“The feeling of getting my working holiday visa for NZ was amazing. The chance to live and work in that beautiful country was one of the best feelings ever. The experiences I had there, the people that I met, the places that I saw all changed my life in more ways than I could ever express in writing. If you are not just an American but a human being, you should travel, and NZ should be one of the countries on the top of the list! I saw so many things but something I did was work on the hobbit while I was there and I never dreamed of that! I had a lot of fun being a bouncer at the best bar in Queenstown: “Searle Lane Bar and Rotisserie”! And the whole country is so beautiful that it is really like living in a postcard!”

“I absolutely loved having my Working Holiday Visa in both Australia and New Zealand. I spent a year in each, working hard and traveling. I went canyoning, scuba diving, sky diving, hiking, bungy jumping, and wine tasting. I lived in a hostel, where I met some amazing people who inspired me so much. I had some of my best adventures there, and you will to. What are you waiting for? You’ll love it!”

“I thought New Mexico was remote! Travelling to New Zealand however, I got a sense of just how big the world really is. There were times when I was the loneliest I had ever been in my life- but it was in those vulnerable moments that I learned just how lovely people can be. Especially in New Zealand! There is where you’ll meet some of the kindest, most down to earth people you’ll ever encounter, which is why you’ll never go wrong living with the locals. Although there is a bit of adjusting to do culture-wise, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how easily you adapt to life in one of the most staggeringly beautiful places on the planet. Being able to work while travelling around this compact country is an amazing advantage, as it means you can see and do as much or as little as you like. There is literally something for everyone awaiting the brave traveller to this gorgeous country, so don’t miss out on a golden opportunity that too few even realise exists.”

“Living and working in New Zealand was undoubtably one of the best decisions I ever made. My year there allowed me to meet amazing people, get great work experience, and explore a beautiful country. A working holiday visa is a great way to travel and experience life in a new place – I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a bit of adventure! New Zealand’s scenery and culture are one of a kind – and I am so glad I chose it as my travel destination. I am so thankful for the experiences I had in NZ, and I can’t wait to go back again some day – maybe next time I won’t bother coming home!”

“I was working a full-time job making more money than I could use when I decided to quit and move to New Zealand. It was my dream to go and something I thought about nonstop… So one day I started the best journey of my life. I met the most amazing people, worked the coolest casual jobs and made my favourite memories. New Zealand is such a magical place and a country I think everyone should experience at some point in their lives. Every city offers something completely different, which makes it so exciting. Every day since I came home, I think about packing my backpack, jumping on a plane and experiencing that journey all over again. If you even have the slightest inclination to visit, I strongly recommend you GO! (I’ll even join you for the ride!)”

“Your adventures in Australia and New Zealand are not complete without a working holiday visa! It gave me the opportunity to get to know each country more closely. I went to school for business but worked abroad as a bartender and picked fruit. I gained a totally different perspective and went far beyond my comfort zone. When you go outside your comfort zone, that’s where the magic happens. Now go apply!”‘

“Thinking about travelling to New Zealand for a year? Stop thinking and start packing. My working holiday visa allowed me to have one of the best years of my life. New Zealand is such a welcoming country filled with stunningly beautiful scenery, friendly people and lots of adventure. In between working to keep the cash coming in, I was able to spend my days off walking the majestic Milford Track, hiking the Franz Josef Glacier, skydiving, bungy jumping, wine tasting, to name but a few. Not exactly the kind of things you get to do on a weekend in Ireland! I left New Zealand with incredible memories and incredible new friendships that will last a life time.”

“I left a good job, left home and travelled to the far side of the world to begin what would become the adventure of a lifetime, that is still on-going. New Zealand is the sort of place that embraces the traveller and is willing to give you so much, so long as you are open to experiencing it. The people, Kiwis are some of the friendliest and most helpful you will ever come across. The scenery is jaw-droppingly amazing and nothing will prepare you for it. I’ve worked in bars, worked in a fish restaurant and even helped run a hostel. Along the way I’ve jumped off cliffs, done bungy jumps, sky-dived, went white-water rafting, went canyoning, horseback riding on the set of Lord of the Rings, spent countless days on the slopes skiing but most of all made some amazing mates along the way. My piece of advice, just go do it, get involved, you won’t regret it!!!!”

“After a year in Sydney, all my friends broke off to do our own thing and I ended up going to NZ by myself. All I wanted was to go to Queenstown for a ski season but I was a little apprehensive as to how I’d get on without anyone I knew. Going it alone gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted – being in a group can be restrictive and you tend to be in your own little world. I made the best friends for life because I was on my own and I had to! I worked in the best café in NZ and made so many close friends there who also arrived alone. NZ is so chilled out and beautiful and is perfect for the solo traveller!”

“I implore EVERYONE to spend some time living in both NZ and Australia. Personally speaking, the benefits of doing so have been immeasurable. Having personal experience of the people behind Travel Hooligan, I can only endorse fully the company you’ll be dealing with. They have been there, done that, done it again and loved it. Their experience is invaluable. You really are in the perfect pair of hands.”

“Deciding to get my visa for New Zealand was the best thing I’ve ever done. The whole trip was an adventure and I’ve met some wonderful friends along the way. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who wants to break away from the mundane and make the most of this opportunity that we’re lucky enough to be able to take.”

“After my working holiday visa in Australia, and being so close to NZ I decided to make a little trip over there where I fell in love with the country, and just got my permanent residency! As you can tell the Working Holiday Visa changed my life and has enabled me to meet some of the best people I know! Would definitely recommend it!”

“I was lucky enough to get a Working Holiday Visa in both Australia and New Zealand and spent about a year in each. Travelling these two magnificent countries was the most fun and exciting time of my life. I met some fantastic people, pushed myself to do things I never thought I’d do, saw spectacular scenery and learned so much about myself. I can’t recommend the Southern Hemisphere enough!”
